Chamois
So i have a Soundstream PCX1000D and a 15" Type R and I have a problem with each of them .. The PCX1000D seems to have something wrong with it .. When i turn on my radio, i get a loud humming noise, or wind noise .. It sounds like wind blowing or something similar even if im not playing music and my volume is off .. It goes away after a few minutes, but it still is obnoxious .. Oh and it makes this noise even if the engine is off, just to let you know .. What can this be? Should i send it back, i just got it a week ago .. chapo123
could be a ground issue.. or your rcas. did you run your rcas by your power wire?? Quote Steve I don't know why but everytime I see your new paint I want a Dr. Pepper...... is this normal? heres an analogy for you. running a high power stereo without a fuse is like having unprotected sex with that hot chick at the bar with the sketchy sexual history. Sure you may be fine and nothing happens but that one time something does happen you're fucked. i dont want woofer broke like bass sound clip clip and voice coil overheat 2 sa12s, saz1500 build log http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/91183-chapo123s-sundown-build-log/page__gopid__1250604entry1250604

mikeg321
To eliminate your HU and rca's as the problem disconect the rca's from your amp then turn it on and see if the noise is still there. And depending on how bad it is some CA glue should take care of the problem with your sub Edited August 11, 2010 by mikeg321 Quote 4 fully loaded Fi sp4 15's 2 Crescendo bc5500s Crescendo c1100.4 6 focal mids Vifa tweets 5 XS Power d3100's Pioneer avh-p4200dvd All crammed into a mustang. http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/150569-mikeg321s-fi-nendo-mustang-getting-walled-videos-page-4/

Rebel4055
Check and make sure you didn't run the RCA's by power wire. Usually people run the RCA's down the middle and power and ground down the sides. Quote Rest In Peace mother. Chamois
Wow you guys really responded fast .. Yeah i did run them down the same side as my power wire .. So its just feedback from the power wire you think? Im really hoping this is the issue, cuz ill just re-run the RCA's down the other side of the car :: And the Sub, like the rubber surround that attaches to the basket, it came loose and i can feel air leaking between Basket and the Rubber Quote 2006 Saab 9-3 2.0T

TLEJ
Yup, I had the same problem. I had cheap RCA's. (Plain tiny black wire ones.) You can usually cross over your power wire if you need to, just not run down beside it.
Chamois
Yeah buy why would it start now after like 2 months? I have never heard this until yesterday, it only happened twice .. Thats why it makes me wonder if its the new amp? or does the way i described the sound make you guys think its feedback?
