PUNKYOU007
So I set my gains with an o-scope. I play a 50Hz @ 0dB signal, my "bass knob" is all the way up and I have my vol where I like it. So I set the amps just below clipping....at 50Hz. Out of curiosity I wanted to see what the o-scope showed as I go down in freq. What I got was that at just about every freq I tried, all the way down to 20Hz....I was getting clipping. Whats the deal? Is there something I am not doing right? Quote Doethepaperboy "Bars of Pain" Doethepaperboy "Hero Remix" C. Arson d(-__-)b beer sucks...but i can bring some jose cuervo. speedball1978
because you need to set the volume at 3/4 tilt, then turn the bass boost down all the way and set the gain up til you see clippin, back down just a hair then reset your bass boost up just a hair if you like, then play all the different tones and see what you get
speedball1978
volume first gain second , boost last,
PUNKYOU007
Why would I set my gain at 3/4? I set my gain just under clipping on my HU. I was always under the impression that you should set your amp gains with the bass knob all the way up Quote Doethepaperboy "Bars of Pain" Doethepaperboy "Hero Remix" C. Turn "Bass Knob" all the way up Set HU to just under clipping Set amp gain to just under clipping Set Bass Boost on the amp to just under clipping. (dont get much out of this one but just a hair of a turn. Edited August 11, 2010 by PUNKYOU007 Quote Doethepaperboy "Bars of Pain" Doethepaperboy "Hero Remix" C. speedball1978
no turn the volume on your head unit up 3/4, but have all the gains and bass boost down, then when you use the o-scope, turn the gain up first til it starts clippin then back off a hair, then set your bass boost last
speedball1978
bass knob is the same feature of your gain on your amp...do the setup without the bass knob plugged into the amp
speedball1978
bass knob is the last thing you want to use on the setup i don't even have a bass knob, i just don't use it
speedball1978
headunit first, gain second, bass boost last, then you can use the bass knob plugged in once all the settings are done, read correctly

Is there something I am not doing right? your going to have a box rise change at every frequency. as it looks most likely lower rise at the frequencies you were trying Quote Suburban Coming Soon
