fecupe2001 Posted January 17, 2011 Report Posted January 17, 2011 Remember something guys, just because your box peaks at 38 hz , doesn´t mean that´s the frequency of your car, my swift´s peak is 57 hz and i´m paking at 39 hz right now because i built for hairtricks, car peak is way different, if you are looking to compete on a burp machine you have to burp around the frequency of your car to get a good score easier!! Here´s a vid i posted on my youtube´s channel on how you can find the resonant frequency of your car, hope it helps!! I´m the SPL Gains topic creator!! wanna get louder?? check this: SPL Gains. new2boom Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 i think the video only shows half the step in testing for the resonant frequency its missing a key part like placing the enclosure out of the vehicle and placing it the same distance away from the tl sensor as in the vehicle and running the sweeps and recording the data then compare the inside vehicle db's to the outside db's and seeing which one inside the vehicle shows the most gain and that frequency will be your resonant frequency. sealed up on the termlab mic on dash 4-sa12"s 2-3500d's 153.4db now testing a american bass 1100.1 no numbers yet 300amp iraggi alt and kinetik batts.

bkolfo4 Posted March 5, 2011 Report Posted March 5, 2011 This is a fun thread, but as already stated a couple of times, most people are seeing the peak of their system, not a true vehicle resonant frequency. That is why a true burp SPL vehicle takes so much time and testing to get maximum numbers. Every system will have a peak, but it is the systems that align the box size, port size and tuning, the right subwoofer, and the vehicles actual resonant frequency that get REALLY loud. Current system: 1997 Blazer - (4) Customer Fi NEO subs with (8) American Bass Elite 2800.1s Previous systems: 2000 Suburban - (4) BTL 15's and (4) IA 40.1's = 157.7 dB at 37 Hz. 1992 Astro Van - (6) BTL 15's and (6) IA 40.1's = 159.7 dB at 43 Hz.
