So i got my sub and amps hooked up today, and the first thing that hit me was not the bass... it was an annoyingly loud ~15khz tone coming straight from my sub.

It does it when the engine is running, and when the engine is not running.

Its volume stays the same regardless of what volume the HU is set to, have it at zero and you can still here it...

If i actually turn the sub off on the HU, i still get it...

The only way to make it go away is by turning the radio off...

What the hell could it be?

lol

Move your rca cables around, make sure you dont run them next to your power wire. Mostly you are getting engine noise.

There is no way its a grounding issue, i am grounded directly to the battery, lol.

Im going to try to move my RCA cables tomorrow, it was getting too dark and i was losing patience...

I cant see how it would be considered engine noise, does it when the car is not even running...

ill garentee you you ran the RCA's on the same side as your power wire, thats interferance from the power wire your hearing, if not then your rca preouts on the amp OR h/u are bad, if the RCA cables already arent bad

edit: ground to the car not the battery, its alot shorter run lol

Why would you EVER WANT flex?
huh?...flex is what can make the lows lower and more air being pushed correct?

Dont ground on the battery, ground to the car. That maybe part of it.

Unplug the RCA's from the amp and see if the noise is still there.

My impatience got the best of me...

I just got back inside... I first unplugged the RCA's from the "master" amp... Still had the noise..

Then i unplugged the RCA's going from the "master" to the "Slave" and it went away...

The RCA cable that straps the two amps together is like 10 feet longer than it needs to be, its coiled up in a few places and passes the power wire once or twice...

Hopefully re-wiring a little will fix things up for me...
