im currently runnin 4 l7 15s with 4 crunch gpv 2000.1

i have a 300 amp iraggi alt

a xs D3400 up front along with a kinetic hc 800 i had laying around till i order my second D3400

and a D3100 in the back

big three done (1/0)

when at full tilt i stay above 13volts

but when i stop it drops pretty quick

can voltage drop harm my xs batts?

i plan on getting another D3100 and D3400 and possibly a second alt

but for the time being it drops pretty good

i jus wanna know if ill harm my batteries (or alt) with low voltage

but i an keep the volts up if i rev up or if im cruising

that depends on how low it drops. anything in the low 12v would start to worry me.

that alt probably doesnt have much output at idle. a second alt with better idle output would be good. or just replace that iraggi with something like the DC 270xp. they put out close to 200amps at idle

Low amperage output at idle is very common with 300+amp alts. That is why your voltage is dropping. Technically any time you drop into the low 12V range you can cause problems with the charging system. How low of voltage are you dropping to?

I would do some testing. I would check the voltage output at the alternator, then at the front battery, and then at the back battery. Do this at idle and also around 2K RPM.

yea i wanna get a second alt for better at idle because thats my weakness

when im cruising and at full tilt it dosent go under 13.3-13.5

and when i stop and its turned down its back to 13.8

eventually i will have two d3400s up front and two d3100s in the rear and dual alts
