chevyman217
Build is coming along great ! Some people could care less about who the genius is that is making the product... They just want to get it cheap and say "derrrr, look at teh pretty lights in muh dash!" Because audio is a lifestyle not a hobby. Things that I am allergic too.... jlantrip
Got it all in and set my gains. Everything seemed to be going good and then I hear "POP". My 100.4 blew the fuses. Ok so did a quick check of everything and didn't see a problem. So I ran to the part store and got some more fuses. As soon as I tried to install the new fuses, I see the magic smoke. I pulled the amp and took the back off and one of the power transistors was burnt up. I pulled everything apart then and couldn't find a problem, no pinched wire or burnt spots on the door where the componets could have come into contact. So I sent it to db-r and he couldn't find any cause for it either. Chris replaced to transistor and tested it and is sending it back to me tomorrow. The 3000D is going strong and the XLs are taking like a champ. Although I don't like the box I built, so got to start working on a new design. Just doesn't seem as loud as I would have guessed. Hell I don't know though. Anyways here are a few pics. Don't like the amps here really. Guess I need to get creative and find a different spot. Alt wired up. Here is the box. And of course mandatory burned up pics. hdorre
is the ground and power hooked up together on the alt. ?? or is it just me Lol, I think it's just you. The 2 wires are zip tied though. OP, that sucks about the amp. I'm sorry to hear that. If you need help with a box design, I could help you out if you PM me max dimensions and preferred internal volume and tuning On 5/8/2011 at 7:38 PM, Kranny said: On 5/8/2011 at 7:35 PM, 'Maxim' said: It hurts me inside when I read stuff like this and remember you're 15 LMFAO so true Mitsubishi 3000GT (Old Build) Headunit: Pioneer 80PRS Frontstage: (2) McLaren Audio MLT-2 Tweeters & (4) PRV Audio MR Series Neo 6.5" Mids Substage: 4 15" Hybrid Subs - Tantric Motors & Sundown Softies Amps: Banda 2.4D Amp (Tweets), American Bass VFL 350.4 (Mids), and (2) Ampere 3800s Electrical :Singer 260A Alt & JY Power Lithium 2005 Chevy Colorado Ext Cab Headunit: Pioneer 80PRS Frontstage: 4 PRV 700Ti Tweets & 6 10" Delta Mids on 3000wrms Substage: 6 Fi BTL 18s in a 4th Order Walkthrough on 3 Wolfram 4500s Electrical: Singer "390" and JY Power My Official Feedback Thread
