NcHalfrican Posted August 28, 2010 Report Posted August 28, 2010 Can someone explain how you run mids and highs active?
zayres29 Posted August 28, 2010 Report Posted August 28, 2010 running comps active is just using some other means of crossing them over instead of using the crossovers that come with them i.e. a 3sixty and having separate amps/channels for each speaker edit: there are other ways too but thats the simplest Btw that was the first person. Ever banned by me while dropping a deuce. Feel privileged
NcHalfrican Posted August 28, 2010 Author Report Posted August 28, 2010 So if i was to cross the speakers with a headunit i would have to use seperate amps for the mids and highs?
skittlesRgood Posted August 28, 2010 Report Posted August 28, 2010 an active crossover is before amplification (inline with the RCAs). passive is after amplification (speaker wire). if you just have mids and highs you only need a 2way crossover. it will have low pass for one channel and high pass for another. you will need to run each speaker off its own channel, so mids get channel 1 and 2. tweeters get channels 3 and 4. set the crossovers to what you want and enjoy. go to BCAE1.com they have a great explanation on this and everything. If I answered you in a well mannered, informative way, you asked a good question or had a good attitude. If I was an asshole, you asked a stupid question or you had a fucktard attitude... or I was in a bad mood.
