I'm helping a buddy with a little budget build

Car: 2001 Chevy Impala

Electrical: Stock and staying that way

Needs: 2 12" subs and an amp

Budget: About $700 for JUST subs and amp

I'm not good at making decisions and he doesn't know anything about car audio and I'd like to hook him with something decent.

Suggestions Please?

I was thinking 2 Type R's on a T-1000BDcp

Dunno about subs, but you could get the aq1200d from AudioQue for $250 and that would leave more room to play with the subs

Warning, you are taking advice from a noob with 0 install experience at this point, any advice I give is strictly based on information gathered via the intrawebz and lots of forum surfing over a period of 2 months

If you are considering buying a DC Level 5, do it. Don't think about it, just do it. It'll work.

go to lowes get bricks wait in yard. throw said brick at vehicle. If thats me and that just happened to me Im going looking for him after that.

1. Goto lowes

2. Get some bricks

3. ???

4. PROFIT!!

Profit from everything. LOVE ideas like this. xD

Why not go with a SAZ-1000d. I think they are cheaper, and it's 1 ohm stable. I don't think the rockford is, but I could be wrong.

BTW, I meant cheaper then the rockford. The Audioque amp would be a good choice as well.

How about 2 audioque sdc2.5 12 inches on an audioque 1200D??

Total $577 USD enough for electrical upgrades, second skin, speaker upgrades, etc.....

Yeah. I think the AQ is a great choice amp. Those subs would go nicely on it as well.

I was also thinking DC LVL3s as well.

That's true too. I love my SA-12s. I was just trying to think of something different because I can see what other companies have to offer. He doesn't know anything so basically I can just use his money to amke a set up that i would want to hear. lol.

My brother had the same budget. He has two 12" sdcs and a aq1200 and a xs d1200 for in the trunk all 4g wiring including big 3 and the box was just over $700 since he got the subs bnib for 250 from the for sale section. Not installed yet but the subs definately look good.
