ahoz28 Posted August 29, 2010 Report Posted August 29, 2010 I have a pair of rf t4000bd that seem to get hot even when not playing music, is this normal? I am working on adding fans but i just noticed it happens even with no signal going thrue them.
TeamHT Posted August 29, 2010 Report Posted August 29, 2010 Not normal at all. My current daily driver has three RF t4000s wired at 1 ohm and my amps don't even get warm after hours of play. At one point in time had them wired to .67 and they still didn't get hot. Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?

The voltage stays around 14.7 and 130f for temp, the fans kick on around 120f. They seem to play fine and dont go into protect even when i play music thru them. I have dropped under 11 volts and wired down to .5 ohms for short burst only. I also have a MLA that i switch to 15.7 but not daily.
