J.HA Posted August 30, 2010 Report Posted August 30, 2010 I have a JL 1000/1 amplifier running 2 12w6v2 @ 4 ohm load. There are times where my amp produces close to no sound or static sounds, but it is on. The low voltage light never goes on. After I bang the amp wit my fist a few times or so, it works perfectly fine..what seems to be the problem? All the wires are connected properly as well as the RCA cables. thanks!

So pretty much anything that looks dirty, crystaline or like it isn't contacting both the board and the component. Then resolder any of these bad joints.
