Alex K
If your port bends, it needs to be at least the width of the port from the back. If your box is, lets say 20 inches deep, and your port is only 10 inches in length, then it doesnt matter. It can stop at 10. I've heard to put your woofer as far away from the port as possible, or to the farthest side, but I just line mine up in the center and be done with it. Quote 2006 Nissan Z Track. Generally, yeah. Helps the wave build in the box and be as coherent as possible when it goes into the port. Although not always... you want to avoid 'dead spots' in your box. As much air as possible should be 'involved'... Here's a rough example: Try using large 45's in any corners where there could potentially be a 'dead spot' Quote 10.x volts fo' life! Tek
Thanks boon, explained well. While Im at it I guess Ill ask; how far should the port opening be from the back end of a vehicle?
slim2fattycake
Its really vehicle and setup dependent. That is something you gotta test on your own. I got a buddy doing 151s with a single 18 and 6k and his port opening is like 4 inches from the side of his vehicle and he's running a 8" sono as his port.
