DC Lvl 5 or Fi Btl

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, i have been lurking around this forum for several years now, just never posted. Im selling my old setup which was 4 12" kicker cvxs. And now ready to move on to the real subs. But im stuck on either the Fi Btl 18s or the Dc lvl 5 18s. Im not looking for just spl, i want a daily beater. Ive watched every build steve has done, but icant even come close to buying a pair of his smd subs. Im was leaning on the Btls until i started seeing the lvl 5s. So im stuck lol. Which would you guys choose and why. Thanks Guys!

How much power you plan on using? I would suggest 18" DC lvl 4 XL's if you want daily. Plus, they can take a good beating too if you wanted to burp them.

i would chose BTL's because they are innovative, cheap and can handle the power (supposing you have the correct amount of power)

i believe they are lighter than lvl 5's. i consider that a plus

if ever i am in the market again i will be getting a BTL

You aint lyin. I think any thread with "this vs that" "this or that" "what would be louder..." should be DELETED

i was thinking leave the 12 sitting in the box in the hole and duck tape from the bottom of the sub to the bottom of the baffle so the sub doesnt free air. would that work?

Steve, What do you think, after your opinion thread can be deleted :good:

i think you should get a DC basket/motor and drop a fi BTL cone into it and call it a day LOL
