Wiring LEDs off a system connection?

Recommended Posts

I have LED kit that I'm installing in my trunk. Is there a safe/reliable way to wire off the amp connections? Such as the remote wire and ground?

If there are options for me, please list, otherwise if this isn't a good idea I'll just run a wire from battery to the trunk (want to avoid this)

think you'd be better off running a relay so that your not pulling too much from your deck.....then you can run all your remote turn ons and l.e.d.s off one power source

EDIT: oh hes good lol^^^

Best bet is if you want them to turn on when your amp comes on is to use a relay. Wire it up so your remote line is the 12v signal going into the relay, by doing this it wont put anymore draw on your remote line.

Thats the one youd use, then just ground the leds out, and make sure the leds are rated for 12 volts

Very nice! Excellent idea.

However now I'm thinking I may want to turn on the LEDs even if the amp is off. For car shows and nightly gatherings, be able to turn on and shine without anything else on or running.

Now that I have a way to do either one, I must decide, Thanks for your replies!!
