LSN2meBoom916
wont that act as a type of a bandpass enclosure though? No. It "shouldn't". unless you include an actuall "column" or "volume" or air that can resonate at a particualr frequencey, it shouldn't give much if any BP effect. Do you rememeber all the whooplah/crappola about the box I built into Laws trunk being a BP enclosure? Well, I KNEW from the git-go everyone would say that and I KNEW it would have SOME BP characteristics (peaky on some notes/high and low like a BP) and it would thus MAXIMIZE the freq's that he'd want louder. Kinda making up for the lower power avail to the subs. The open end is what really keeps it from being a true BP. So without tubes/rectangle ports/or any volume of air to resonate, just making holes in ur rear deck will only let it breath into the cabin better-Like I did on the LEXUS, which now does a 145db on the epic- 160, despite the subs being as faaar away as possible and only breathing thru the deck.
