benz280se
i just had my alt rebuilt by a local shop and it's charging 14.8v @idle. before it was charging at 13.5 @idle. the alt was i think either 80 or 100amps. when the alt was rebuilt did the amperage stay the same? or would he have had to raise the amps also to get the higher voltage? benz280se
not sure about the terminology but i know he had to completely rebuild it cause the bearings went out and messed up the inside to the point where it locked up while i was driving! MECHMAN
It is fine, 14.8 volts is a good place to be. Your alternator may have been getting tired, and thus only charged in the 13 volt range. 1-888-MECHMAN www.Mechman.com [email protected]
