J_Bird
I have true dual exhaust with Flowmaster Super 40's and no catalytic converters. It sounds fine but it has bad backfire (probably from no cats of course) and when I get past about 2500 rpm's it sounds like its echo-ing real bad. I figured cats would fix this and make it sound a bit deeper but I DO NOT want to sacrifice loudness. Advice?? 8v fury
The cats shouldn't really make a difference in the sound level, the muffler job is to change the sound level or tone of your exhaust. I have build several vehicles with and without the cats on exhaust system and there was really barely any difference on the sound level. Quote Pushing it to the limits. Want more power. No cats sounds awesome I just want the tone to be smoother it echoes bad at about 2500rpms. I just want it to be smoother and not echo so bad above 2500rpms. The mufflers sound amazing until I'm driving and I hit 2500 then it sounds like a have an exhaust leak. Other than that one thing I've had the exhaust for about 9 months and I love it still. 8v fury
Besides the exhaust, what else have you done to your vehicle and how is your timing and air/fuel mixture. Quote Pushing it to the limits. Want more power.
