Do you have a factory harness in the car now? Like the one that plugs into the back of the factory radio?

the harness is there, the wires are plugged into the harness. But they do not have any locally around here for a 2001 jimmy to fit that clarion

That is why i spliced, I left lotsa room on the wires i cut from the stock harness incase i ever find its match i can splice the wire back together. Right now all i get is red light flashes, Thats the constant sign right ? So it must be somthing to do with the other wire that controls if it turns on or not right ? I think im finally getting this hole deck installation thing lol.

I was unable to plug-in the long radio clip the one wtih my vehicle is much shorter & was normally bent. I think i will have to get a differant plug end for it, But outside of that i think everything went fine it fit in real nice & smooth when i put my dash back on when this is done i think it will look nice.

Ok when you strip your wires find a wire that lights up all the time using a test light that will be your constant then turn the key and find which wire lights up that will be your red or switched

ok, so you cut your factory harness out of your truck? the wiring harness you buy has nothing to do with what head unit you are installing and everything to do with what model and year your car is.

what red lights flash? lights on the clarion?

what is the long radio clip? what does it do?
