We need to know what amp also. Most likely you are running to small of a wire for the amp. Causing it to get really hot and melt the wire.

i know you have a truck and its not going to far, but a 150a fuse is 0g territory, I personally don't use 4g for anything past 100 amps

could be the 4 gauge.

i had a supposed 4 gauge wire running to my 2100 watt amp and the wire plastic melted together with my fuse block.

haha

but no problems with the 0 gauge 8)

depends on what your amp fuse rating is

does it need an inline fuse?

or is there one in the amp?
