ryde2idie
Anybody write any poetry or know of any good poems they'd like to share. Or even inspiring lyrics from your favorite artists music. I write every once in a while but never anything extensive, just enough to get the point acrossed. I'll post some of my favorites and some I've personally writen to get the ball rolling. These are some of mine -Too much pride causes a loss of appetite for knowledge. Not enough knowledge causes you to be blind to the truth. Not enough truth causes you to lie and disguise the fact that you have no idea why you're so proud to be you. -Griping a cross with the left and consoling the devil with the right. Words of the Qur'an begin to compel the white to strike. But the lies they tell grow weary and their people see more clearly, that the true facts are really found inside conspiracy theories. -Innocent ignorance causes self potential to be transparent. Like holding a full house but you've never played cards. Educate yourself about yourself and make the best of the hand your lord has dealt. Some of my favorite lyrics. -Mos Def-"Killin fields need blood to graze the cash cow It's a number game, but shit don't add up somehow Like I got, sixteen to thirty-two bars to rock it but only 15% of profits, ever see my pockets like sixty-nine billion in the last twenty years spent on national defense but folks still live in fear like nearly half of America's largest cities is one-quarter black That's why they gave Ricky Ross all the crack" -Immortal Technique-"It's like MK-ULTRA, controlling your brain Suggestive thinking, causing your perspective to change They wanna rearrange the whole point of view of the ghetto The fourth branch of the government, want us to settle A bandana full of glittering, generality Fighting for freedom and fighting terror, but what's reality? Read about the history of the place that we live in And stop letting corporate news tell lies to your children" -Nas-"The China-men built the railroad The Indians saved the Pilgrim And in return the Pilgrim killed em They call it it Thanksgiving, I call your holiday hellday Cause I'm from poverty, neglected by the wealthy Me and my niggas share gifts every day like Christmas Slay bitches and party everyday like this is the last I'm with my heckles connecting and we hitting the lad This is my level, fuck if it get you mad It's all poison, all of my words to enemies it is poison Rappers only talk about ki's, its all poison How could you call yourself emcees you ain't poison Think about the kids you mislead with the poison And any thoughts of taking me down is all poison Who want beef now, my heat shell anoint them, plaow" Remember it doesn't have to rhyme to be poetry and it can be about anything. GRITS
I wrote these two about 5 yrs ago, they were supposed to be letters and ended up as poems. Enemy was to my father and Misunderstood was to my Aunt. ENEMY My heart is hurting. My soul is shaking, It feels as if my mind is breaking. Did you know what you were making? When you were breaking, That precious little child, that wasn’t yours for the taking, You have filled my life with sorrow, Sometimes I don’t think I can make it through tomorrow. But I know that I will make it, this you can believe. Cause I will make you see, this woman you have made me. I am your worst enemy. By: Me Misunderstood Do you know what it is that you did to me? Do you even care? Do you know what it is like living your life when no one is there? Did you hate me that much, was I that bad? You filled my life with rage now I am sad. When I turned to you for help, you were not there. So I guess that showed me you didn’t even care. I walk through life alone because I can not bear to have someone turn away from me when I am in despair. It’s not that I was hated, you just misunderstood. Because who I am in life, you can’t light a match to. By: Me Hail!! Hail!! I have already proven to the world that I possess many qualities, tested as a child like many adults will never be. HONOR---When my breast were ravaged I went further and held my heart--piece by piece I work to put it back together. Kindness to myself was learned. PRAISE--When I close my eyes I can see what others can't; smiles in the sun. Insight was learned. RESPECT--When hands sild through my legs I became stiff. Would I be able to walk away when he was done? Strenght was learned. GLORY--When my ears were filled with sounds of moans, I listened for birds to sing of future times; Patience was learned. SALUTE--When all this happened I protected myself without a formal "how to" class. I used my own mind, and body and survived. Confidence was learned. TRIBUTE--I will not hang my head, for shame does not do me. Well I will hold it high and let them see how a spirit was not broken. By: Robin R. ryde2idie
That's pretty deep. I feel like you access pain from the past and funnel it onto the paper to paint an dark emotional image to allow those to feel what you've been through. If I'm wrong I'm wrong, but none the less I'd like to read more. Quote
ryde2idie
i used to write music/lyrics back in the day when i was in a band(s) if that counts? Yes of course it counts. What type of music did you play? Quote
cmamtower
Yes of course it counts. What type of music did you play? used to play, im terrible anymore lol but i played hardrock, alternative, metal, country, anything basically. it just depended which band i was in. but as all bands do, they all fell apart and i really havent played since except for my girlfriend. which i need to start doing more. i've tried teaching her how to play guitar as well. and she started off doing really well but gave it up because she thought she sucked at it lol but i mean everyone sucks to start with. she was better than me when i first started playing Quote apparently you dont get the fact that the subaru was wrapped around a pole. and by the status of your comment, im guessing your mouth is too.
