Door sensor always reads open

Recommended Posts

About a month ago I installed a viper 350 alarm with a two way remote on my 85 olds cutlass ciera. The car does not have power locks, but does have a ground pin at each door to sense if it is open. I wired into to ground coming from the drivers door right in the kick panel. For a week after the installation the alarm worked fine, but then one day upon arming the 2 way remote said that the door was open. I checked all the sensors and they all trip the interior lights and such when open, but the alarm thinks they're always open. I did reset the system by simply disconnecting the battery, but i have not taken the module out to inspect it. All other alarm trips still work, just not doors. Any ideas?

Thanks

all doors work the dome light?

should be a white wire at the underdash light.

Id say if all the doors work the dome light, that your door trigger wire for the alarm is shorted to ground somewhere.

I'm actually not sure if all doors work the dome light because the dome light is fucked up and whenever i put a bulb in it blows the fuse and i haven't got around to fixing it yet. When i open my driver's door with the key in the ignition the chime plays to let you know that the key is in, but it doesn't do that for any of the other doors. Is the chime controlled on a circuit separate from the dome light?

Thanks for help
