Ok so I am looking to compete on a near non existent budget for MECA S1 in 2011. I am gonna have to pull something out of thin air in order to even be competitive.Mt car is a 2002 Ford Focus Sedan

Im only going to be able to use 200 watts Rms per subwoofer.

Would I be able to compete in S1? also would a ported box sealed off in the fold down seat opening be good? It would be Subs and Port facing forward .

Yes, tune high. If you know your car's resonant frequency tune it around there. If you don't, find out.

Why not run as1?

I know Resonanating frequency is roughly 43-46 hz. The Amp is also a Pioneer .I could compete in AS1 I just figured S1 was same rules/guidelines. Wont tuning high kill any chance of any music response ? I know Sine it would be loud

You would just have easier competition in as1 and it'd give you a chance to learn.

ok pioneer includes specs for a bandpass enclosure for their woofers would that be better? keep in mind I would still like to listen to music with it

If you wanna get numbers for nothing make the car a burper. If you want it to play loud on music and sound good then get money and forget about competing.

If aeroPorts are allowed I could run 2 4" aeros 6" long for 46 for comps and plug one for 34hz for music?
