lowpt
I am planning on redoing my door panels. The car is a 4 door. The front doors will involve fiberglass and filler so, that isn't my problem. The rear doors have an insert that will be replaced with a piece of MDF painted to match the front panels. Do I need to do a coat of filler to keep the wood from absorbing paint or can I just do a couple of coats of primer?

EclipseChris
Coat the mdf in resin and then sand, prime, and paint. Thats the best looking result imo. Thats the best looking result imo. like glass . that will work and look good . but it will be cheaper to prime the shit out of it and sand it smooth. either way works . the resin will be better if you got the extra time Edited October 26, 2010 by big dee
lowpt
I'm not sure if this matters but it will be a satin finish.
