The "dd" Box

Recommended Posts

Okay I just got back from the DD dealership and they just fed me some bullshit.

They said that I would have to go with their "DD" box that I would buy from them

The main thing that im confused about is the different styles of port

DD recommends that i have like 96" of port which is like 18" x 6.66666667" in the original box design where both port and sub fire the same way.......

I was wondering if I could take the 18" x 6.66667" port and make like a CRX style of box where i would widen the port but reduce the height at the same time so it would have the same amount of square inches of port

What do yall think...................Hold on Im making models of sketchup

Yea the length is a function of the port area, so as long as the area doesnt change you can configure it however you want.

A couple links to some box builds:

Tahoe Box 1, Tahoe Box 2, Nissan Titan, VW GTI,

Mini-Bump, Hummer H2, Ford F-150

My own car builds (current setup --- under construction):

Overall Thread, Kickpods, Dash, Back Doors

Subwoofer Wall

so just as long as the depth is the same Ill be ok if the square inches stay the same. Will it hurt the output if the port is like a long slender rectangle

their new boxes are the shit btw. :)

What? are you talkin about prefab boxes or jus thier new designs

the ratio of port length to width is 3:1. dont have on be more than 3 times the dimension of the other.

and im talking about the prefabs. theyre AWESOME.
