In his navigator he has 2 15s and 2 12s. Each set is tuned different and fucking slams from like 25-60hz I think. He's rebuilding it right now but has great luck with two different boxes tuned different.

no no the Navi has 4 15's

Franky has 2 18's and 2 15's

the 18s and 15s are ran off of separate amps and cross over at different frequencies to avoid cancellation

what the OP is proposing to do might work but the 2 boxes need to be treated like two different speakers. if they are put on the same amp with same x-over's then its totally pointless

so if i have 2 amps on them it'll be fine?

And different frequency ranges for each. Yes. Tune one to 28hz maybe and have it play below 35hz and tune the other to say 42hz and play above 35hz. Just an example.
