So the guy that owns a shop and is willing to do it for $100 is a good deal?

if you bring him a design and he builds it, it seems like an ok deal. I paid damn near 70 just in wood...lol

What kind did you use?

the guy is going to get 3/4 MDF...how much does that cost?

i suck men dry...email me for details

Yeah I spent about $60 on materials for mine and had my friend build it to spec. You also have to realize just cutting the wood and putting it all together could deff take up a whole saturday and to do it good you would need a table saw(lowes cut all my pieces for free!). $100 is good if he will do a quality box built to your specs. By the way, whoever said box size doesnt matter is a moron, you dont have to be an audio engineer to know how sound works!

i offered to build you a box lol. im sure most of the guys on here can tell you that my team mates and/or myself can design and make a better box than a cabinet maker.

why does it cost so much? lets see $60 in supplies leaves $40 profit... comes to about $7 an hour. would you accept a $7 per hour job if you knew you were a great worker?

now if you just want 6 sides slapped together, well shit, that guy could probably have it done in an hour. if you want something to perform, it's going to take some time to build and a lot of extra tricks that we know about.

but hey, its your money.

Many people on the forum can do it better than the cabinet maker. After seeing a few pics from your build, I have NO DOUBT that you are better

Wow $7 hour? Thats real cheap :) In fact. its below the legal minimum wage limit here in NY ($7.25)

OP, you need to pay to have it done right...

Oh I got an email from someone...not sure if it was you...but I thought it was just to get the right dimensions...

I'm all the way in CALI. shipping would be ridiculous no matter where you live (unless it's less than a hour drive that I could pick up)
