Why MDF

Okay... Im here to ask What makes MDF good for enclosures? I know that is what your suppose to use. and i know its medium density Fiberboard. I just want to know facts on why to use it?

The real questions is WHY NOT?

lol me i like it because its easy to sand down, price wise IMO not too bad. only thing that sucks its the saw dust.

but ive seen other ppl use different kinds of woods because they are much stronger than mdf

Most people use it because it's relatively cheap, and durable birtch is better but more expensive and alot less fun to work with.

MDF is forgiving. You can scratch it or nick it and just sand that bitch down. Its cheap, Its very dense, and you can get it from almost every department store.

The only reason why i sometimes use birch is bc it is light, stronger, and sometimes i get 3/4 baltic birch 4x8 sheets for free :D
