single 3 ohm speaker

got a quick question. is there any way to wire a single 3 ohm speaker down to 1 ohm? could you possibly wire in resistors to drop the ohms? trying to get the max out of my amp is memphis 16-PR 1.1000. thanks for the help

jl audio w7 im guessing. and no u can't wire it to 1 ohm. if its a dual 3 u can wire to 1.5

You must not be familiar with the JL Audio 8w7, 10w7, and 12w7.

Edit: @Brewer, he said it's a single 3 ohm sub. It's most likely either the 8, 10, or 12 w7. The 13w7 is D1.5.

@OP, no, don't use resistors, get a different sub or another one if you want a lower ohmage.
