chrisiseffincool Posted November 2, 2010 Report Posted November 2, 2010 I have a 2002 VW (Golf) GTI 1.8T and I'm having major troubles looking for a ho alternator. I have a 15 BTL w/ a Sundown SAZ-1500D and I'm really in need of an alternator plus a battery. I can't seem to find an alternator anywhere though for this car, and I'm just looking for a solution other than the Big 3 to fix this voltage dropping. Any help is appreciated, thanks. Current Setup: VW GTI 1.8T '02 1 15" Fi BTL Sundown SAZ-1500D Box-4.3 cubes

Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?

I'll be doing the Big 3 soon. The stock alternator on this car is like 65 amp lmao. I think the battery is just a normal car battery, nothing special too. I'll have to check on that. But if you are going to do somethng big in the future then maybe you should get one. But you won't need one for 1.5k watts. My alternator really is a POS but I will have this setup for awhile so I'm in no rush for an alternator. Have a shop around and decide how much you can spend. XS power will have something suitable.
