ive never herd them so i need some input as to how they sound how much power they really take an stuff like that, im mainly worried about thundering lows and just all around loudfullness. id be running 2 in a huge box( or wall) tuned low(32 33hz?) like a 200amp alt and a battery for each one with like 2000 rms of power to each so like an aq 2200 per sub.im not too worried about sq. any suggestions about box size or any info about the sub is greatly appreciated. if i could have a 5 to 6k watt system that does hair tricks with these hdc's id be beyond happy. also one last question, with walls why is it that the subs and the port always shoot forward? i was thinkin like shoot them to the back an port on side or front with amps in the frount of the box. but then again i know nothing about walled enclosures(yet)

I'm actually saving up to buy 2 18s (AQ HDC3) as well, when these subs hit the lows....you will know these are no joke. 2 18s at 32hz on a walled setup will be killer, as long as you seal off the wall completely all around, lots of work, but you will be satisfied. As far as power goes, yes you can run 2 AQ 2200's, but you need to break these subs in as the suspension is real stiff on em at first. the more you "break them in" the lower and louder they will hit.

They get down. I have 4 in my suburban run off two Cadence ZRS C5's. Clamped the 4 are only seeing total 4000watts...but..they will take more. Best score I got with them is a 150.6 @ 36Hz

And for the price, cant beat them.

Put it to you this way...DJ from Audio Q told me I could run an AQ3500 to each one, that should tell you something.

thats whats up they seem super nice. yeah i was gunna let them free air break in over night or something lol. an by making sure the wall is sealed off what do you mean exactly? an i ment to ask if walling them would give better output then just a big ol box, nobodys ever explained anything about walled enclosures to me =/

god id love to have 4 18's! i have a tiny scion xd so 2 is already pushing it lol thats why im going with these instead of ss xxx18's just one would beat my car into submission cause i would throw 10k at it an never change my system again haha. an yeah if one can take a 3500 then these aq's should be plenty for awhile

I have 4 of the HDC3 15's walled in my sierra, you can check out my build log to see what sealed off means, and I am running a 3500 for each pair, but I will soon be running a 3500 per sub, and they can actually handle a 3500 per coil if you set it up right. And follow the break in that aq recommends, and oh yeah, I do 160's. LOL

Build log here my build
