Air Temp Question

Im stumped as to why when i start my car and let it warm up because its been so damn cold here lately. Why does my heat not warm up when its sitting? As soon as i take off and am driving the air will heat right up inside the car but the minute i stop it gets cool again..

Anyone know what could be causing this???

Check your coolant in the radiator to see if it's low. If it's too low it won't pump coolant through your heater core until your car is above idle, at which time it would blow hot air but when there's not enough pressure (idle) it'll just blow luke warm air at best

Ok thanks man i will check it...I was also thinkin it may have something to do with the Thermostat too possibly

If it were the thermostat it would either take a lot longer to heat up then become hot and stay hot, or it would just not open up all the way and you'd end up with just warm air coming out, depending how far it would open. If your fluid's low also check to make sure you don't have a leak somewhere.

Your engine heats up faster at higher rpms and under a load than it does just chilling at idle. It's normal.

That first part is correct but it is not normal to not have heat when your just idling..When a car is heated up you should have a continuous flow of heat no matter what.
