I have 2 SA-12's on a JL Audio 500/1v2. $300 is a small price to pay to be able to correctly set you gains then have your set up clipping and blowing equipment Turn your gain down some if your smelling the subs when playing them Very true very true, but for I don't think the smells coming from the subs though...I think it might b my mids..after like an hour of playing then it smells like metal and crap so I stop playing for a bit to let it cool a bit or wherever reason the smells coming from, and the wierd thing is that everything is normal temp, yeah they get a little warm but not hot, where I should b smelling it. And also the speakers/subs rnt hot either. I'm not sure what it is, but I'm sure it's coming from the stereo, cuz it smells like speakers and metal, and it only smells when I play music.
