My 6" wasn't too bad but was a bitch since it was only 50 degrees outside and cooked off to fast. I used a metal bowl that was just smaller then the pipe on the bottom so it barely fit over it. Heated the bowl up with a heat gun and then heated the shit out if the PVC till you could see it was soft and start pushing down with some strength while still applying heat. Helpful to have someone help. Keep pushing til it's flared to your liking and hold it there with strength until it cools. Then remove. And the more flare you get to the harder it is to push down.
