how do you bag with torsion bars?

Recommended Posts

if its anything like the 4wd truck front suspension (the 1500) then the torsion bars do need to come out,the bracket goes over the top of the control arm like shown earlier unless you really really great at fabricating then you still have to remove front driveline and axels to avoid burning up the front diff which is now open and free spinning like hubs that are in the unlocked position permanently.

then you would have to fabricate or be lucky enough to find brackets to go between the framerail in the front and the lower control arm. either way torsion bars come out for suspension to flow freely. they have an ifs (independent front suspension) with upper and lower control arms still.

No I didnt misunderstand or miss hear. I called art and asked do I leave in or remove my torsion bars with there air struts. the guy told me keep them in just lower them all the way. I said are you sure and he put me on hold...... Got back on the phone 3 minutes later and told me he asked and yes I leave them in. Air bag it told me I had to leave them in as well. I talked it over with my neighbor that is a mechanic and he said I would leave them in. As the other guy on here said his friend took them off and could hardly get his front end up. the torsion key acts as a spring. so if you can lower it all the way down with the keys. then when the airbag goes to raise up the truck the torsion bar helps. I did see meade cut them off. thats why I was asking how they worked. I saw him drop the front end but never raise it up. I asked my neighbor it didnt make sence that if semi trucks could use airbags why couldnt air bags get my front end up. and he reminded me that semi still have leaf springs and the air bags just help.

WOuld like to hear from Meade how he really thought they worked upwards rasing.... Not a advertising video that they work great. how do they really work. both companies told me air struts ride sucks... yet the other guy said truck rides like on a cloud.... companies that sell the product say it sucks though..... hmmmmmm

they ride insanely good, there is no advertisement there, i paid full price. I highly doubt Ridetech told you that their product, that they sell, sucks. I ride on Ridetech Titanium, i dont know what other garbage air struts you are referring to but mine are all good.

You go ahead and leave your torsion bars in. Its not the proper way to do it but then again, dont really care what you do to your car.

What dont people get about torsion bars/springs? They control ride height! What does bagging it do?! Varies ride height. Therefore you need to remove them! Tell me you've seen factory air ride setups with springs or torsion bars? Try taking a look under a Lincoln. Remove the torsion bars, plain and simple.
