Ok guys I am trying to get ideas for a new amp come tax time if not my christmas present to myself. I was looking on ebay and came across the sundown sax-1200 what is the difference between it and the sae-1200? I am also tossing around the idea of a aq1200 or maybe something else I want something that is going to beat the hell out of my twelve with out blowing it or cooking itself in the process. I currently have a alphasonik rated at 1800rms but its probably more like 1400 or so. what is the most power I could safely throw at the woofer and all for a daily beater? My box is 1.5 cubic footish tuned to around 35hz if that helps or matters

I'm going to be putting a SAZ1500D on a Level 4 12 or 15 (havent decided which). I have had this amp for a while now and have had ZERO problems, I dont have any experience with a SAZ1200 but if you can get one for cheap I would say definitely give it a try!

Remember it ,Write it down, take a picture, I don't give a f*ck.

Good choices you've got there. I'd try to run 1200-1500 on it, here's my suggestions.

most desired to least desired.

Rockford Fosgate T-1000-1bd

Sundown 1200 or 1500

Soundigital SD1000.1D

AQ 1200

Hifonics BRZ1200.1D

Power acoustic BAMF-40001D

Audiopipe AP15001D

Good advice! I agree 100% with this guy here I have posted in your other thread I think but Ill post again I would recommend 1200rms+ up to about 1500ish myself maybe a couple watts more but not much and probably not a 2k daily. I run my level 4 12 in 2 cubes tuned to 32hz on DD M1a and it takes the power well and would say it can handle maybe 500rms more but that would be getting pretty high in the rms range for this sub daily IMO but these things are beasts and I have seen a Level 4 12 on wall socket and takes it for quite a while and doesnt fry so...

yea i think i am around 1200 to 1400 rms right now but in a 1.5ish cuft box at 35hz which is what was recommended to me by rusty. i have been thinking about the sundown 1200 but may look into the 1500 i know if i decide to get a second woofer next season im going to be strapping a matching pair of amps to them but i am buying everything 1 step at a time do to funds

Well, if you get the new T1500-1bdCP, it produces the same power at 1 ohm that it does at 2. This means that if you wire your sub down to 1 ohm on that amp, even with some impedance rise, your sub will still see all 1500 watts. But don't discredit Sundown, they make great products, I'm just a little biased towards RF lol and the 1500 watts RF amps are great, I have 3 T1500-1bd's in my 'stang.
