i want to do something special for my mother in law (michelles mom). She has breast cancer and just had a masectomy *SP about a month ago. She is currently going thru her first stages of chemo and will start to lose her hair soon. I have the power of this huge website/forum at my fingertips and i want to find a way to generate some donations because she is going broke by the minute and will need a wig, help with prescriptions, and a little help with the prosthetic breast so she doesnt feel lopsided for lack of a better way of putting it. With chemo, she cant be near anyone that is even remotely ill since her immune is down almost like an aids patient which also means she cant go to work. My question is, since i dont want to beg for donations, i want you guys to get something out of the deal.....if i made a huge mix-cd with all the shit i bump, like i planned on doing anyway, is it legal to "charge" donations and give the proceeds to gramma-brenda? I was thinking $5 minimum or whatever someone wants to donate of course.....

none of it, not even a penny will go to myself........every bit will go directly to her. Can i get in trouble for selling mix tapes? (cd's)

anyway just a thought.....and i have this tool (my forum) i think i can use it to help her out some.....

Steve, I don't know that I can be any help in regard to the legal aspect of it. I am not sure if this would work, but maybe you could charge an optional "elite" membership fee or something like that instead. Access to the big-boys section or something. I don't know, just some thoughts. I will be happy to help. I will watch to see what comes of it.

thanks J....i dont know if sellin them out the trunk is a good idea i think the idea was that i get so many requests for names of songs in my vids that people that are familiar with SMD would benefit most from it. Some other joker on the BLVD might not understand....

i dont think its legal to sell other ppls songs even on if its a mix but if the sellin part is the problem then just send a free cd to the ppl who just happen to donate for the cause.

i also thought about a benefit test and tune.....a mini comp where instead of buying trophys i can just give her the money...how many people would make the roadie to Sactown for a little T&T for gramma brenda?
