jake1993 Posted December 1, 2010 Report Posted December 1, 2010 ok. my friend has a massive audio p1000.1 we had it all hooked up and it was running fine without any problems. and he is using my sundown sae1200. he has 4 10's. 2 massive audio dc 10's running on my sundown. and 2 kenwoods running on his massive 1000.1 when the volume is down its fine. but as soon as he turns up the head unit the massive amp goes into protect. check all the wires. subs are single 4 ohm. wired down to 2 ohms. the sundown amp works perfect. cant figure out what the problem with it is. and the subs are in different chambers. the kenwoods in one and the massives in one. any ideas what could be wrong. the voltage was about 13.3 when the amp kicked into protect. this issue is just something that started happening like i said it was working fine and was running fine for about 2 weeks. then started going into protect Jacob Sigmund 1 dc level 4 m1 18 1 audiopipe ap1500 2 runs of knu 1/0 Alex Bennington" <[email protected] ^^^ want one one email this guy he will hook you up!

Skullz Posted December 1, 2010 Report Posted December 1, 2010 Have you tried to play it with just one amp at a time to see if that solves the problem? Regardless of what a meter is reading unless its on the amp going into protect its tough to say that that isn't the problem. Do you have it wired at or above the rated ohm load for the amp? 01 Ford focus ZX3 Pioneer AVH-X491BHS PPI PC 4800.2 Morel Maximo 6.5" x2
jake1993 Posted December 1, 2010 Author Report Posted December 1, 2010 yeah i have tried just the massive amp hooked up. still went starit to protect. and yeah. they are single 4 ohm subs wired down to 2 ohms. the amp said it was 1 ohm stable and i had the dmm on the power wires at the amp. and both amps have there own power wires front to back Jacob Sigmund 1 dc level 4 m1 18 1 audiopipe ap1500 2 runs of knu 1/0 Alex Bennington" <[email protected] ^^^ want one one email this guy he will hook you up!
Skullz Posted December 1, 2010 Report Posted December 1, 2010 Have you tried switching the amps on the subs to see if it still happens? 01 Ford focus ZX3 Pioneer AVH-X491BHS PPI PC 4800.2 Morel Maximo 6.5" x2
jake1993 Posted December 1, 2010 Author Report Posted December 1, 2010 no i haven't. the massives are dual 4 ohm though wired to 1 ohm. but i can give it a shot. what else could cause it to go into protect? bad ground? jake1993 Posted December 2, 2010 Author Report Posted December 2, 2010 ok he came over and we played with it some more. still kept going into protect. so we took it out and pluged a sony in and it worked fine. so connections should be fine. but i checked them still and they all looked fine. any ideas what else could be wrong? Loudcivic Posted December 2, 2010 Report Posted December 2, 2010 so with the massive amp it will work fine on low volume but go into protect at a higher volume? if so you could have a bad voice coil on one of the subs causing it to go into protect. i would think the massive would have a better protection then the sony therefore the sony will play them and the massive wont. try hooking just one one of the subs up to the massive at a time. if one of the subs makes it go into protect then you know you have a bad sub 2015 silverado crew cab nothing atm but soon...
