MikeyD92 Posted December 3, 2010 Report Posted December 3, 2010 Hey guys me and my friend installed 2 12" subs in his car a couple months ago..when the subs are on the trunk rattles it sounds like somethings loose but we have checked everything we can think of and nothing was loose this problem is very annoying and it kills the quality of the subs becuz all you hear is the rattle if anybody has any ideas on how this can be fixed thanks in advanc...

Its a thick metal/paste film that you apply to the inside of the trunk lid, it stiffens up the trunk lid for extra strength and support. I'm sure you have heard the term "dynamat" before, basically thats what that stuff does. Look up "Second skin" The stuff is not cheap by any means, but its what you will need to reduce that sound.
