Wiring Living Room For Surround Sound

Recommended Posts

I too would stay away from in wall setups. Yeah they look nice and clean but they will limit you on the sound I think you are looking for.

not many cars can get me to pluggin my ears but this one.......damn. I mean the first minute is ok but that thing just really starts digging deeper and deeper in your earhole till you cant stand it no more. Seems like it does it with relative ease....16 12's on 8 amps.........gotta love it. :)

I really want to do this myself. The A/V store talking about $130 an hour just to run the speaker wires for surround sound.

They give you a quote on how long it would be expected to take? 130 isn't bad if it's done in a couple of hours.

is the house 1 or 2 story? Also, how is it laid out? Can you get into the attic and to the wall where the system is going to go?

If you have attic access and have the system on a inside wall it will make it eaiser to fish wires through the walls.

Give me a layout with some details and maybe we can help ya out.
