kbreudi
I hear talk about not adding a second battery if you dont plan on upgrading the alt because it will burn it up and such, is this true? Right now i have done the big 3 in 4 awg, got a everstart in the front and 0 awg running to the distro blocks in the trunk. I just bought a kinetik HC800 to install in the rear but am worried about hurting my stock alt. Its a 98 Cadillac catera with a stock 120 amp alt. I cant seem to find ANY alts for this car so i dont plan on gettin a HO for it anytime soon. So will the second batt be a bad thing? E a r t h
Adding a batt or batts will deffinately help. Especially when your amps are pulling more current then your alts output capability. Doing this helps prevent dangerous voltage drops. A battery today keeps the magic smoke away
Forevrbumpn
its not as bad as most people say. Upgradeing Alts is always good, but a second battery wont hurt. I had a 85 blazer with a 90 amp alt, and a 94 Hyundai Excel with a 78amp alt, never had any alt problems with either car. If you have a car with 120-140+ alt your golden with 1 added battery Quote I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy.

dmanson
Ok one problem. I wont have two alike batterys OR an isolator. i hear of people running different batties in parallel and still not have a problem. the most recommended suggestion by any audio shop would be to run alike batteries if possible but definitely don't do the isolator crap.
