Anyone have them, or know if they really stand up to the hype? They definitely do stand up to the hype. I ran Polk speakers for 3 years in my car, and they sounded amazing for how cheap they were. I have heard both the coaxials and the seperates, they are really good. The only negative thing I could say about them is their tweeters tend to be kinda bright, but that can be easily fixed. tacomabanga1986 Posted December 11, 2010 Report Posted December 11, 2010 i got those for the rear speakers in my truck and i got the older db6500 comp set, the ones with the white carbon fiber looking mids and imo there are the best speakers ive heard so far, and backed by a good amp they can pump out some midbass since my pioneer premire 860 has the ability to run 3way active that i might try to run the comp set active but i dunno how they will perform tho i want to get some 4'' db's and fiberglass them on my dash to bring the sound up a lil better and run them off my deck i got mine used from a soundboard but there worth the money imo if u pay retail, only side note is the midrange can be a little ringy but i think thats due to my settings, i put some stuff on my doors kinda like peal n seal but its made for commercial duck work and it brings out the midrage a whole lot here's a link to my system 99 toyota tacoma , 2 mtx 8000 1504's in a sealed downfire , 1000w memphis amp here's a link to my other system my 90 geo prizm test car heres a thread i got of new songs u can dl that are legal = Some Good Bangage/you Can Dl These Free And Legit
