6 sa12s ported vs 6 sa 15s sealed

Recommended Posts

well how much room do you have to work with? Whats the measurements of the cargo area.. I like the idea for 6 12's ported, but i dont see why you couldnt do 4 15s ported instead.. save yourself some money so you could throw another amp on them down the road..

save money for recones after he got another amp to then, if he did that.

6 12s has more coils to better handle power, and more motors for more power behind the cone.

all the 4 15s have is a slight cone area advantage.

Lol...I was a dumbass when posted that.. i forgot the amp he has was a 3000..

Correction external dimensions are a max of 45w 25 height 35 depth so would it be possible to.fit 3 18s? if so what would ya rather do 4 Sa15s or 3 z18s off a saz3000 @ 0.5ohm

What would be louder and what would have a flatter freq response?

how would the freq response of 6 12s tuned to 35hz in a 12 cubic feet after port and displacement compare to a 4 15 35hz in a 14 cubic feet

6 sa12s ported vs 6 sa 15s sealed off a saz 3000d @ 0.7 ohm goals are 145 on music 150s on tone and a flat response that is loud on all music

6 12s

BUT the box will have to be about 12cubes and about 120sq in of port tuned at 30hz for nice flat response with a good deal of output.

Ive messed with SA-12s enough to know what they like.

I have my 6 SA12's in 12 cubes with 130" of port tunes to 34 and it hammers. I have played with port sizes from 87" up to 150 and the I agree with Eric about the 120-130 range. Tuning is a different story, I dont see a need to tune that low, but to each there own..

Head Unit: Alpine CDA 9887

Sub Amps: 4 RF2500's

Subs: 8 SA-12's Walled

Comp Amp: 1 RF600.2 (for now)

Comps: (4) 6.5 Punch Mid Pros and 2 Punch Pro Tweeters

Batteries: (1) XS D5100 (5) D3100

Power Cables: 2 runs of 2/0 power and ground each front to back(Try-Star)

Alternator: Dual Mechman Rhino 250's

Deadener: Fatmat / Damplifier Pro

I assumer you're in a suv do you goto the windowline or to the headrest? Does it hit hard 55hz to 65hz?

His is actually in a car walled. But yes his 55 to 65 range still plays hard iirc
