i read sum where if the sub sonic filter set to low i can smoke the subs. not worried bout being louder til spring time. its more of a make the subs last til then question

Well, ya. if your subsonic is set too low, you're able to bottom out the subs. which is bad. general rule of thumb is to set it 3-5 hz lower than your tuning.

so since my box is at 30 drop it to 25 or so

ehh around there. its hard to set it on the spot because the knob doesn't list every number from 15 - 40. it only gives you 15 & 40. so i would set it about halfway. maybe a little less.

So u have deck and amp set differently for lpf why? And if your subs aren't unloading then the subsonic is fine.
