Gana be truthfull i havent seen your build? put a link to it and ill check it out forsure.

no no id make the front carpet and flush with everything. but glass a mold of the car for the back of the box. its soooo much better then cuting everything to fit. And it would be stronger and allow you to tune lower.

And yeah that's what I wanted to do...I wanna match the trunk carpeting as close as possible. And yeah I get it now. How thick should the fiberglass be so it won't flex? Also, there's a little storage hole behind the fold out armrest in the rear seats. I wanna put the port here so it can blast straight into the cab. XD Good idea? Btw, I cut everything to fit in my car...took three days lol.

well theres a difference in overpowering a sub and setting the gains gright i mean u can have the cheapest sub in the world and have a 5000k wat amp and u can make it work if you set it up right an example is in steves hoe he was able to put 2 times the rms on his subs and he had everything set up right and it worked nd by no means am i saying you can do that with all subs but do reasearch and this forum is full of help ive been looking at it for a while now and just decided to sign up because i needed some more help...

Yeah, but many who don't know better set the gain all the way up. My buddy Cody blew two P3 shallowmounts within a few months...I'm sure this is what happened. He's got too much watts and too much gain. I was wondering about the 30kw system...why is it so overpowered? I'm sure he did it for a reason right? And I can't wait either man.

yea that is completly right about the gains. but steve has the right tools for his gain, and both subs he did that to were bult/ designed to take a beating. im just guessing here but i dont think the scd was designed for that. Plus it shortins the life of any sub rather its made from god or its a pyle. And idk bout you but i wouldnt risk it in my moms car.

as for the glass id say like 3 layers of half oz with a blace or to would be awsome!

and on the steve thing hes basically pushing his peak on the subs. rms is 3500 they can take it no problem so why not?!

go to the dc site and look at the specs there level 1,2,3,4, and the xl 10's all call for a 1 cubic foot box ported so dc should be a perfect canidate

OH i dicked it! iv seen your build before and the box was clean as hell i loved it!

as for the port in the arm rest. awsome idea! but isnt the box going behind the wheel well??

Yeah, behind the spare wheel well standing behind the trunk. So it'll be right behind the seats. I'm glad the port is a good idea lol it was excited when I found the hole. (dirty lol) Glad to know you liked it my build, I put alotta effort into it. I'll research the glassing some more so I don't screw it up. And it must be nice for Steve! Poloplayer, thanks for the suggestion!

Im haveing a hard time pictureing how youd get a port from the wheel well to the middle of the seats? maybe im confused or something? idk.

but hell yea i like how clean it was. look out for my build in like Feb-march its gana be a fi btl 18 stuffed in my beretta! lol sub sealed off from the trunk faceing forward. as of now i have the sub. thats it! haha

Nice! Okay idk how to describe it but basically the box will be wedged between the back of the seats and the far end of the spare tire, so Mom can still get it out. Glad to hear about the BTL! I'll be glad to see it. I'm about to post the trunk pictures to see what I'm talking about. Few minutes.

Alright, so after lifting the carpet I realized the spare takes up a little more room than I thought. But with a little modification to that board covering it (hinges maybe) it shouldn't be an issue. I've tried to mark some reference points with red lines.

Here's what I have in mind. I drew two lines. I'd prefer that the box only go to the first line (closest to the seats) bu it can go to the second one maybe if I need the airspace.

Looking here, the damn board over the spare tire takes up almost the whole trunk, so I might just take it out completely. If the carpet sags than I'll remake it.
