Good days work today... got a fair bit done.

Trimmed all the foam and sanded the pu glue down from the join ready for the second sheets of mdf.

IMAG0282.jpg

IMAG0283.jpg

Started on the drivers side ... bottom piece was already in and foamed.

Nice thick bead of pu glue.

IMAG0285.jpg

Top piece cut and held in with brakets until foam and glue sets.

IMAG0286.jpg

Cut up the second piece of mdf for passenger side bottom. Little tip of jj. sand the shine off the mdf before adding pva. Cheers pal.

IMAG0288.jpg

Covered in pva with roller.... another tip thanks to jj. and the proffessa.

Screwed in

Top part cut and glued and screwed.

Passengers side is solid now. The gap at the top will be fiberglass nice and thick to get some more volume.

Doubled up the drivers side and expanding foamed round the edges to seal it up nice.

4 of the 6v cells in and wired.

Big wheel well but still not big enough for all 6 batteries.

IMAG0302.jpg

Battery tray expanding foamed in.

IMAG0303.jpg

Snugg fit.

IMAG0306.jpg

IMAG0308.jpg

Cables all connected... thought it was a good idea to use butterfly nuts for ease of connection but I'm going to swap them for nuts because they just don't get tight enough for my liking, scared of them coming loose.

IMAG0310.jpg

Backs on, also done some work on the centre partition and brace.

Cutout for the back.

IMAG0311.jpg

Just about fitted two outta one sheet.

IMAG0330.jpg

IMAG0331.jpg

Scuffed up the dynomat and paint off the car so it had something to cling to

IMAG0332.jpg

IMAG0333.jpg

4 layers of 450gm over the arch

IMAG0334.jpg

IMAG0335.jpg

2 layers on the joints

IMAG0336.jpg

Decided Im changing the front end come end of feb to 4 sets of Hybrid Audio Imgine 6.5" components powered by two Sundown SAX 100.4 B)B). Wanted something that will sound nice daily driving but will keep up with the monsters in the back trying to blow my screen out :D

Managed to get 3 consecutive days off work next week so hoping to get a lot done

Stay tuned for more updates

It's the biggest I can fit on my car without custom brakets and alternators.... if u have problems ill change it, the car is only a 1.4tdi so adding stupid amounts of alts will lead to no power. Been told ill be fine with the power I have as there are no big alt suppliers in the UK.

mechman makes a 270 amp alt for audi and vw just thought id let you know
