fecupe2001
i had one and yes they are AWESOME, they do rated power if you can mantain your voltage around 14v , they take tons of abuse and barely get hot, not to mention they sound great IMO I buddy had 2 Crossfire BMF 15´s with that amp and was hitting 147 @ 41 hz all day long, so i say they do the job pretty good Quote I´m the SPL Gains topic creator!! wanna get louder?? check this: SPL Gains. Superjay
they don't do rated power. never have. they'll do about 1350. conversely the 1000.1dx will do about 1250. you can save $150 by going with the smaller amp and get almost the same power Quote Principal JTech Consulting - Leader in 12-Volt Training and Product PlanningIt's not about how much power you have, but how well you use it
fecupe2001
Maybe i was lucky i guess because i clamped mine, i don´t remember the numbers correctly but it did rated power if i remember correctly. bmph8er
is it true that powerbass amps are power hungry? i heard somewhere it took a lot of juice to keep them happy Quote 2001 gmc seirra 5.3 auto 3.73 locked rear, long tube headers, offroad y pipe, duals, cai, black bear tune, 2/4 drop, 22s, rockford fosgate mods and highs and 4 ab hd 15s and a ab 750.1 1995 civic 1.5 auto slower then hell, dropped on coil overs, ex hub caps, 2 12 trunk, have 450 bucks in the car and gets 35 mpg 1992 s10 being bagged, shaved, and small stereo. right now a pile of parts
Superjay
the ASA amps are pretty inefficient. so, yes, they are power hungry. I batch tested probably 20% of the amplifiers at PB...the 1500 was inconsistent, and only about 50% efficient at 1-ohm. efficiency would rise to 70% at 4-ohms. The 1000 was CONSIDERABLY better, with efficiency as high as 82%.
