Mr.basshead Posted December 28, 2010 Report Posted December 28, 2010 Okay I have a dd 3515e and I'd like to know what would be the right size box if I were to be putting 1.7-2k daily to it? I currently have a box that is 3.25 cubic ft after displacement with 2 4" aeros with huge 1" flares tuned to 34.45 hz, would the box I have now work out just fine or should I build a new one? 1 TC Sounds TC-3000 15 D2 (temporary until I get a box built for the both of them) Powerbass ASA 1500.1 Dx Pioneer Mvh-P8200 Soundstream MPQ-7XO 7 band Eq Crescendo CCX6.5's Rockford Fosgate Punch 200a4 C&D UPS490-MR in the back 2008 Kia Rio Lx

iKidwell Posted December 28, 2010 Report Posted December 28, 2010 dd's like huge boxes with tons of port. I'd do like 3.75-4 cubes with ~80 sq in of port, and like 18 in^2 per cube c'mon now, if i was shooting an 8 year old, it wouldnt be MY 8 year old. i recently got a Pyle PL1590BL and i was building an enclosure for it tuned to 25 hz. i didn't have any tools to cut a circle so i hit it with a big hammer. 2003 Infiniti G35 Sport Sedan Build in Progress

I knew that dd recommended 4 cubes but I'm gonna be putting 2k to it so I thought 4 cubes might be to big? 1 TC Sounds TC-3000 15 D2 (temporary until I get a box built for the both of them) Powerbass ASA 1500.1 Dx Pioneer Mvh-P8200 Soundstream MPQ-7XO 7 band Eq Crescendo CCX6.5's Rockford Fosgate Punch 200a4 C&D UPS490-MR in the back 2008 Kia Rio Lx

(I'd like to use 4" aeros) EDIT: Also what tuning would be good if I like alot of rock and some rap? 1 TC Sounds TC-3000 15 D2 (temporary until I get a box built for the both of them) Powerbass ASA 1500.1 Dx Pioneer Mvh-P8200 Soundstream MPQ-7XO 7 band Eq Crescendo CCX6.5's Rockford Fosgate Punch 200a4 C&D UPS490-MR in the back 2008 Kia Rio Lx

Ji553r Posted December 28, 2010 Report Posted December 28, 2010 mines in about 3.75 cubes with 13.25 sq in port per foot tuned to 29 hz it devestates the lows. on Pysphs Turn it up i got 139.9 sealed on the dash and 156 in the port. its on 800 watts from my sundown.i was hoping to break 140 but im not gonna upgrade amp or sub because im selling my car anyway. I don't fuck around. I go from zero to I hope you die in less than 2 posts build log http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/104524-new-subs-coming-sundown-3500d-arc-audio-cable-lacing-crescendo/
Boon Posted December 28, 2010 Report Posted December 28, 2010 Your ports are way, way too small. Go for ~3.5 cubes after displacement with 60^2" of port 18 inches long or 1 6" aero if you wanna smash the lows. 2 4" aeros on a 3515 is sacrilege, may as well put it in a prefab. 10.x volts fo' life!
