OBI Posted December 31, 2010 Report Posted December 31, 2010 Heres whats going on. I have my 4 Sundown 2ks each wired at 1ohm. Each to a Lvl 4xl. The 2 amps pushing the 2 driver's side subs, have to have there LPF set all the ways down. And the 2 amps pushing the 2 passenger side subs have there LPF set normally at ~80hz. I have to have it like this because thats the only way to get full output out the subs. Also, if I have my all 4 of my amps, with their LPF settings all matching, the subs do all move together but they all sound like they're free airing bad, at all freqs, and at low volume. Anyone want to take a shot at this? Wanting to know what they issue is because I think my 2 passenger side subs might be playing alittle louder, than my 2 drivers side subs. Oh and gain was set with O-Scopoe, at 45hz -4.6db. So all amps are matching perfectly other than there LPF settings.
skittlesRgood Posted December 31, 2010 Report Posted December 31, 2010 setting gains with just an oscope wont match them. set one with the scope then measure the AC voltage and set the others the same. when i set my filters ill use a tone at that frequency, like 80hz. then lower the LPF until i see a drop in AC voltage. just like setting the gains, you measure each amp and make them read the same voltage. does that help? bassahaulic Posted December 31, 2010 Report Posted December 31, 2010 Why do you need to have different settings on the amps? They should match exactly. This is going to sound dumb but check all wiring and make sure it all correct.

Amps are all at exactly 58.7 volts. And I did something like that and thats when I run into problems with the driver's side subs. They all move together, and they move a lot. But they don't build up any pressure at all, kinda like the are in free air. And thats at any freq, but once i have my LPF settings all funky, They slam hard. Why do you need to have different settings on the amps? They should match exactly. This is going to sound dumb but check all wiring and make sure it all correct. Need to have them like this to get output outta them. Everything matches perfectly on my amps (gains, subsonic, no bass boast..) execpt the lpf. Once I match the lpf on the 2 left amps, to 80hz, thats when I get problems. Right now I have to have them all the way down 35hz, to get output.
