always in for more results. have you tested grounding the alt to the chasis/frame? would be interesting to see what kind of gain could be had with that.

I haven´t , but i can tell yout this one, adding a neg run from alt case to the battery´s negative made a huge difference on my explorer

U could always try 1/2" plate on systems with higher current draw. The 1/4" already has exceeded my expectations.

that´s another option, but if you take a good look about this whole topic, i always try to test everything saving a lot of money, and helping people to save some move also without spending it on things they don´t need, on 3 or 4 different testings i´ve done with 1/4" , the results were all the same, like i said a couple of posts before, i can live with 0.1 - 0.3 dbs lower on a termlab

I did the two 1/4'' ones, but I also added more batts, new amp, etc, so my 2 db gain is irrelevant, lol

you could always take out a plate and burp without to see if you loose any, that would help us out a lot , its easy ans quick to do

you know, i never thought of doing a neg from alt to batt. when i do my big 3 all have to add that in there.

trust me, it helps!!!! specially when you have an HO alternator, i learned the importance of that negative run thanks to matthew from mechman, my mechman 270A wasn´t working that good on my explorer, i was dropping below 12v with a dd m2b and a d3100 under the hood, he told me that , when you install a bigger alternator, you need to reduce the ground resistance a lot, i did that run and won more than a full volt and like 0.8 dbs on the termlab, of course it depends on the application, but after i saw that, i always do that negative run from alt to battery.

By the way, i´m gonna be working on those wires tomorrow on my explorer, gonna make a nice update on this topic with that, gonna be adding the big3 wires and burping once at a time, should help you out
