Fecupe took his time to give us a basic example of how he could spend 2 days and $0 to get his DB score up. This is an example. How about all you people saying "hey try this, or try that" and waiting around for him to do it, you get out yourself and do some of the things he has done. We spend our time doing things we love and figuring out the best ways to make things work...and we don't mind sharing our knowledge, but damn...some things you got to work for yourself people. fecupe2001 Posted June 1, 2011 Author Report Share Posted June 1, 2011 Remember that this topic is all about gains, there are 3 things that i want people to understand: 1) I´m trying to spend as less money as i can. 2) This isn´t for breaking any records, it doesn´t matter if it´s a 135 dbs score or something poor like that, is just for doing a before/after test. 3) I haven´t pics of everything, sometimes you have to trust when i say a score because it´s a pain in the ass taking pics of all i do. Said that, if those "conditions" aren´t good for you then it´s ok, i suggest you not to watch this topic, this is something that helps me to learn new things, and specially for other people that doesn´t own a sensor because it´s very difficult to get inputs from people that knows MANY things about SPL and don´t want to share them , wich i totally respect because are things that they learned with hard work , time and money!!! About the updates, i honestly wanted to give you a few more than this, but it rained the whole fucking weekend and couldn´t advance as much as i wanted, so you´ll have to wait for new updates this weekend wich include a new box with a slot port hehe. IMPORTANT THING: Look at my condition #1 , i didn´t build a new box, i only took one of the old POS boxes and did the new tests, funny thing is that i sold the box for 50$ hehe, so it´s cool Equipment on use: 12" crossfire BMF 375 watts sub and a SS xxx4000.1 wired at 4 ohms, scores are sealed on the dash of my explorer, box is 1.5 c/f and single 4" pvc port. Someone asked me to try a 45 vs PVC round over, the initial score (wich i don´t have a picture) was 136.66 dbs @ 52 hz using a pvc roundover without any bondo on it. Now, let´s try a mdf 45: Can you say "score dropping?" I thought it might be the size of the 45´s taking more internal space of the box and affecting the score, so i tried even a smaller 45´s and score was basically the same, as you can see, PVC roundovers FTMW!!!! on the testings that are coming next week, i´m going with a before/after bondo on a roundover and see how much it can gain, wait for that!!! of course, i changed to PVC roundover again and installed it better and my score went up to 137 dbs flat!! Next up, i changed the piece of crap wires i was using for some nice JL audio wires i had around, sadly i don´t have pics of this but score went from 137.0 dbs to 137.22 dbs I´m the SPL Gains topic creator!! wanna get louder?? check this: SPL Gains.
