Whats wrong with my roommates comp?

Recommended Posts

Turn your computer off, take your PSU out and hook it up to his computer. If his computer turns on, you know it was the PSU.

Also, do vice versa, hook his PSU up to your computer and see if it turns it on.

Depending on whether the main plug is 20 or 24 pin you may or may not be able to do it.

We don't need to make this complicated by switching out drives and crap guys...

He said he wants to get the info off the drive, that is why he is going to move the HDD over.

Reading not > me. I know why he wants to do that with the hard drive, but if he just swaps the psu and finds out that's all that went wrong, then they won't need to pull all of the data off of the drive, he'd just need to buy a $20 psu.

Sry for the delay. Looking closer to mine I think its actually a 20 pin as well. If I feel ambitious enough tonight to pull out 2 PSUs, hook em up again in different comps, unhook them, and hook them back up to their original then I will and Ill let you know lol.
