Also, do vice versa, hook his PSU up to your computer and see if it turns it on. Depending on whether the main plug is 20 or 24 pin you may or may not be able to do it. I know why he wants to do that with the hard drive, but if he just swaps the psu and finds out that's all that went wrong, then they won't need to pull all of the data off of the drive, he'd just need to buy a $20 psu. If I feel ambitious enough tonight to pull out 2 PSUs, hook em up again in different comps, unhook them, and hook them back up to their original then I will and Ill let you know lol.
